Round, structured and fruity with smooth tannins (100% Pinot Noir).
Food pairing: Salads, meat pies, poultry, or boiled beef.
Serving temperature: 14-16°C
Tasting notes:
Bourgogne Pinot Noir is very lively on the palate and well structured with a supple and smooth finish.
Its tannins and fruit have a "face to face" wherein the wine’s chewy character balances the impulsion of its secondary aromas.
Possessing volume and meat, the word for this wine is «vinous».
It has a fine, elegant personality and a fluid, light structure on the palate.
Domain:
Located in the heart of the Mâcon wine region, Domaine de Rochebin is situated at an altitude of 450m, on a hilltop overlooking the Saône plain, close to Azé.
This village is known for its prehistoric caves.
The domaine was created in 1921, but was only dedicated exclusively to viticulture from 1972.
The vineyards (46 hectares), most of which used to be part of the estate of the Abbey of Cluny, are managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, with grass covering plots.
The diversity of the terroir allows the Domain to grow the 4 Burgundy grape varieties:
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté and Gamay.
Vinification:
The harvest, made traditionally, is then carefully destemmed before the crop goes into the vat.
After fermentation the wine was pressed off and matured into the stainless steel vat.
